Read the provider fee source ↗Limitations to understand
Cautions
- Free User builder fees apply only when the fee currency is USDC
- Paid User mode removes Gainium's builder fee but consumes plan credits
- Changing modes requires reconnecting and stops bots/cancels deals on the connection
- The checked docs do not specify Gainium's storage and handling of API-wallet keys
Permission & security notes
- Gainium docs say Web3 connection private keys stay in the user's wallet
- Use a dedicated Hyperliquid agent wallet for API connections; do not enter the main-wallet private key
- Gainium's connection guide says Hyperliquid agent wallets cannot withdraw funds

The historical review date for this profile is February 24, 2026. HypeChain checked Gainium’s official Hyperliquid fee and connection documentation on September 28, 2026. The update is limited to these terms; other product claims were not renewed, and trading tests were not run.
Hyperliquid fee modes
Gainium offers a Free User connection mode and a Paid User mode. The mode determines whether Gainium charges a builder fee or uses plan credits. Hyperliquid’s own trading fees are additional in either mode.
| Connection mode | Gainium charge | Builder fee | Bot credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free User | No paid subscription required | On USDC fee currency: 0.07% on spot sells; 0.045% on both sides of futures trades | Hyperliquid bots do not consume bot credits; trading volume is unlimited |
| Paid User | Requires a paid plan | No Gainium builder fee | Bots use credits according to the plan |
A paid subscriber can still connect Hyperliquid in Free User mode, paying builder fees without using credits. Gainium says the mode cannot be changed on an active connection: remove it and reconnect, which stops its bots and cancels deals. Stop active bots before switching.
The fee comparison depends on USDC trade volume and the credits your bots use. This review does not claim a universal break-even point. Check the current fee and plan terms before choosing a mode.
Wallet connections and permissions
Gainium’s Hyperliquid connection guide describes two methods:
- Web3 wallet: connect through MetaMask or WalletConnect. Gainium says the private keys stay in the user’s wallet.
- API wallet: use a Hyperliquid agent wallet. Gainium says this key can submit trades on the main account but cannot withdraw funds. Its setup guide tells users to enter the agent-wallet private key into Gainium, not the main wallet’s private key.
The API method gives Gainium the agent-wallet private key for trade signing. The documentation checked here does not explain how Gainium stores or handles that key. Hyperliquid users can create or revoke agent wallets; use a dedicated agent key and never provide the main-wallet private key.
