HyperCore vs HyperEVM: A Source-Led Architecture Guide
Source check: October 3, 2026. Documentation review; independently tested behavior is not established by this check.
Scope: Current Hyperliquid architecture, CoreWriter, API-wallet, and fee documentation checked; funding-state and account-mode boundaries rechecked. No bot integration, transfer or execution performance tested.

Correction and scope
Editorial correction — September 28, 2026: This page’s bot rankings, product performance claims, and provider-specific architecture endorsements have been removed. The architecture explanation below is an orientation, not a fresh technical review of every Hyperliquid feature or bot. The historical review date remains February 8, 2026.
Editorial update — October 3, 2026: Rechecked the relevant Hyperliquid architecture and API documentation. Repeated service deadlines and the example of a transitioning vendor were removed; current lifecycle information is shown in the shared status block above. No product integration or execution test was run.
The two execution environments
Hyperliquid’s documentation describes HyperCore, which includes margin and matching-engine state, and the general-purpose EVM environment, HyperEVM. The environments expose different interfaces. Check a service’s own documentation to see which interface it uses.
| Environment | What the official docs describe | What this does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| HyperCore | Native margin and matching-engine state, including spot and perpetual markets through the exchange interface. | A vendor’s connection method, permissions, fill quality, or latency. |
| HyperEVM | EVM blocks and smart-contract interaction through JSON-RPC. | That a trading bot is deployed on HyperEVM or uses its contracts. |
| Cross-environment calls | CoreWriter lets an EVM contract request certain actions on HyperCore. | That a particular product uses CoreWriter or gains an execution or security advantage. |
See Hyperliquid’s HyperCore overview , HyperEVM overview , and CoreWriter guide .
The CoreWriter guide says order actions and vault transfers sent through CoreWriter are delayed on-chain for a few seconds. This design note does not measure a bot’s end-to-end order or fill time and cannot support a vendor latency claim.
Identify which balance should change
The same-looking account address does not make a HyperCore ledger balance a HyperEVM wallet-token balance. Hyperliquid’s user transfer guide documents supported Core↔EVM transfers; check the asset, direction and gas location. A wallet or exchange must support the destination state and network explicitly.
Within HyperCore, account modes also affect balance visibility: Unified has a single balance per asset, while Manual/Standard separates spot, perps and DEX balances. A missing balance in one view is not enough to establish a lost deposit. Check the intended account and ledger before repeating a transfer.
How to assess an integration claim
Ask which documented path sends the trade. An API integration should identify the relevant Hyperliquid API, account address, and signer authority. An EVM integration should identify its contract and transaction path. A cross-environment claim needs evidence of the contract and the CoreWriter calls. Marketing language or a single benchmark does not establish performance across users, locations, or market conditions.
Keep measurements separate: an RPC response, order submission, exchange acknowledgement, and fill are different events. Hyperliquid’s API documentation describes account fill data. Its API-wallet documentation says an API wallet signs for an account; the signer address is not necessarily the account address. Neither document tests how a third-party product handles keys or orders.
Fees also need separate treatment. Exchange fees, funding, builder fees, and subscriptions can be distinct costs; Hyperliquid’s builder-code documentation describes builder-fee approvals.
For a practical review of account authority, key storage, and exit steps, use the bot custody checklist .
